Thursday 22/09/05 PSA Peugeot Citroen v Cov Jag Green at Home

PSA were playing their bogey side and the formation of the team showed that John Powell was determined to try and break this losing streak to Cov Jag. Cov Jag started brightly and were soon putting the PSA defence under pressure, however Thomas Carlin and Dean Pharaoh stayed strong.

PSA started to push back and soon forced a corner. Reegan Hardy put a great ball in and Sam Moore shot home to open the scoring for PSA. PSA were now on top and started to knock the ball around well. In the 18th minute Jake Powell played a ball into the box to Stefan Jones who then found a defender jumping on his back. A penalty to PSA.

The goalkeeper was doing a Jerzy Dudek on the line however Jake Powell took no notice of this and smashed the ball directly over the head of the keeper and into the back of the net. One of the parents swears that the goal itself was lifted off the pitch.

Half time 2 - 0 to PSA.

Shock, horror the second half PSA were not in it at all. Cov Jag had played a different formation and PSA could not match this. However the PSA defence stood strong and held out until the last 5 minutes when a Cov Jag player scored a great goal hitting the inside of the post before going in the net.

A tense last five minutes, but PSA stood strong and held out for another 3 points.

Man of the Match - Dean Pharaoh

Special mention to John Gibbons in goal who, when at 2 - 0, made a fantastic save. Well done John.
