Peugeot U/14’s put in a fine performance against
Woodloes who were third in the table. Out to seek
revenge for a 5-3 reverse earlier in the season, Peugeot
dominated the first half with a fine passing game.
Peugeot opened the scoring through
Sean Kelly and it was Kelly who was upended in the box
that allowed Stevie Nollett to increase the lead to 2-0
by slotting home the penalty. The two nil lead at half
time was fully deserved with Woodloes being outplayed by
what was turning into Peugeots performance of the season
so far.
Half Time - PSA 2 Woodloes 0
The second half continued in
similar vein with Sean Kelly grabbing his second when
following in on a stinging drive that had been parried
by the keeper.
The fourth was the move of the
game. Some fine interpassing between Shaun Kay, Jay
Fivey and Stevie Nollett who’s through ball released
Shaun Kay to burst past the full back and deliver an
excellent cross that Matty Watson crashed into the back
of the net.
Woodloes, to their credit, came
back into the game after this but some solid defending
by Dave Seaman, Jordan Wylds and “Bullet” prevented them
from penetrating the Peugeot defence. Connor Brady
comfortably dealt with any threat between the sticks.
Peugeot wrapped up a fine performance with a fifth and
well taken goal scored by Daniel Fossick.
Man of the match awards were given
to Christy Lowndes for some crunching tackles early in
the game that fired up the rest of the team and Matty
Watson for his overall contribution and fine team play.
